The Tannehill Country Church was built in 1905 and served as the Kimbrell Methodist Church on Eastern Valley Road until the late 1950s. It sat idle for about 15 years and then was donated and moved to the park.

The church is a one-room building with one center aisle and pews on each side. Up front there is a raised pulpit area and a piano. There are two windows in the front and back, two windows and a door on the left side and three windows on the right side. The building does have air-conditioning, heating and a handicap ramp on the left side. It will seat approximately 100 people. There is no room in the church for a reception. The restrooms are in a separate building near the church.

The cost for using the church for a wedding is $425. The cost includes 100 guests coming into the park for the wedding. You may use the church the afternoon/night before to decorate and rehearse and all day of the wedding. An exception would be a Sunday wedding as there is a church service at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday. The church would be available at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

When making a reservation for the Church, a $100 deposit is due at the time of scheduling. The balance is due 2 weeks before scheduled date. A $50.00 service fee is assessed on all cancellations. You must cancel 14 days before the reservation date to receive a refund less the $50.00 service fee. However, if you cancel less than 14 days before the reservation date your deposit will be forfeited. You may notify the office of the cancellation by phone, but you must send a written request before the refund can be made.

The park is open 7:00 a.m. until dark. You go to the Country Store to pick-up the key to the church. There is a $5.00 key deposit that is refunded when the key is returned.

A horse and buggy cannot go up the steep, paved hill to the church.

Remember when decorating that the church is a historical building and do not use nails or anything that will damage the building or furnishings. It is okay to use candles – just be careful!

Cane Creek School at Tannehill

school 1
school 2

The Cane Creek School was built in 1923 and moved from Warrior to Tannehill in 1981. It has two large rooms, one with old school desks that can be moved within the room and the other is an open room with one twelve foot long “permanent” table and three short pews against the walls. There are folding tables and chairs that can be setup. Off the open room the cloak closet has been converted to a partial kitchen – a sink with cold running water and a refrigerator. The school has two restrooms, air-conditioning and heat. There is a handicap ramp, convenient parking and about four picnic tables outside.

The cost for using the school is $135.00 per day. Folks coming in the park pay regular gate admission which is $3.00 for adults (12-61), $2.00 for seniors (62+), $1.00 for children (6-11) and children ages five and under free.

When making a reservation for the School, a $60.00 deposit is due at the time of scheduling. The balance is due 2 weeks before scheduled date. A $10.00 service fee is assessed on all cancellations. You must cancel 14 day before the reservation date to receive a refund less the $10.00 service fee. However, if you cancel less than 14 days before the reservation date your deposit will be forfeited. You may notify the office of the cancellation by phone, but you must send a written request before the refund can be made.

For an event that you wish to pay the gate admission for guests, we can provide tickets based on an estimated attendance. You distribute the tickets and folks turn them in at the gate for admission. You only pay for the actual number of tickets turned in at the gate. Please remember to call in advance about tickets so you will have time to receive and distribute them.

The park is open 7:00 a.m. until dark. You go to the Country Store to pick-up the key to the school. There is a $5.00 key deposit that will be refunded when the key is returned to the store. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the park.

Remember when decorating that the school is a historical building and do not use nails or anything that will damage the building or furnishings.
